
The Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society presents the Brentano String Quartet in a program of Schubert's "Quartettsatz" and his String Quartet in G-Major, with Britten's String Quartet in G-Major. Singer-songwriter and former Houserocker Bill Toms will hold his annual Thanksgiving Benefit Concert at Cefalo's in Carnegie at 8 p.m., with proceeds going to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. "Suite Life: A Billy Strayhorn Birthday Bash" at 8 p.m. at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. Give thanks for jazz on Thanksgiving weekend and celebrate the birthday of Billy Strayhorn -- a Pittsburgh native, a great composer, pianist, and the man responsible for many of Duke Ellington's jazz numbers, including "Take the 'A' Train." The Pittsburgh Gospel Choir, spoken word artist Vanessa German, trumpeter Sean Jones' Quintet with guest steelpan artist Phil Solomon are slated to perform.
