West Allegheny and Thomas Jefferson students sound off on tonight's Class AAA playoff game:
FROM WEST ALLEGHENY
Dan Bruni, senior -- West Allegheny will win because of our solid running game and our stout defense. If we win the time of possession and turnover battles and get a couple of key stops, no one can beat us.
Marissa Mianzo and Matt Stickley, seniors -- The game this Friday is the biggest one of the season and since it is close to home, our fan section will be enormous. No one can stop Mike Caputo, and no one can get by our defense.
Morgan Partyka, freshman -- Beating New Castle was a great victory last Friday! This week is even more important for our hard-working, determined team. I've been to every football game supporting West A along with our amazing fans. This year, I have faith with our all-round great coaching staff and players that we will beat TJ and make it to Heinz Field!
FROM THOMAS JEFFERSON
Zach Virgin, senior -- Led by coach Cherpak, whose coaching abilities are among the best in the state, the team is bound by a sense of commitment to winning. To the Jaguars, losing is not an option at a time like this, and West Allegheny is no exception.
Skylar Williams, senior -- We are going to win this Friday against West Allegheny because we have the best coach in high school football, and the players refuse to lose -- especially since we have Jimmy Giansante. There is no way that you won't see TJ at Heinz next week!
Jordyn D'Alessandro, junior -- In this week's game of the week, it is quite obvious who will come out on top! TJ will win because losing is not a word in our dictionary. With coach Bill Cherpak and a player like Jim Giansante, how could we lose?
