A Greene County woman was killed early yesterday when her pickup truck was struck by a dump truck in Dunkard.

Darlene F. Phillips, 47, of Mt. Morris, was pronounced dead at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Mrs. Phillips and her 10-year-old son had been traveling north on Bald Hill Church Road at about 7:35 a.m. when the southbound dump truck, driven by Terry Hare, 43, of Waynesburg, went out of control.

The two vehicles collided, leaving Mrs. Phillips and her son trapped inside.

The boy also was taken to Ruby Memorial for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

The cause of the crash still is being investigated.
