West police departments are honored

Platinum Awards have been presented to 22 police departments from AAA for community traffic safety efforts, according to officials at AAA East Central.

The Platinum awards were given to "commendable leaders" for their safety efforts and enforcement activities geared towards making communities safer.

Among the 22 recipients was Findlay, which was among hundreds nationwide that participated in the Community Traffic Safety Program and among 82 regional entrants recognized by AAA.

Gold awards, the second highest recognition, were given to police departments in Beaver, McDonald, Moon, Rosslyn Farms and Scott.
