Classes were cancelled today for nearly 500 students at Wilkins Elementary School in Churchill because of a broken water line.
School officials said drivers of buses carrying students to the school were ordered to turn around, a spokeswoman for the Woodland Hills School District said.
The school houses 490 students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
Teachers still reported for work.
The break was noticed in the 8-inch line around 7 a.m. today.
Anthony Russo, director of the Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority, said repairs should be completed by 3 p.m.
Schools' spokeswoman Maria McCool said classes will resume tomorrow for students at Wilkins Elementary.
