A Beaver County woman's luck ran out Friday the 13th, the day she was charged with stealing more than $40,000 from her convenience store employer.

Diane Marie Justi, 39, of Freedom, was arraigned Friday by District Judge Edward Howe on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.

She had worked at the Conway Superette where, over the past few months, surveillance cameras captured images of her stealing Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off tickets.

A police affidavit said Ms. Justi cashed in $48,000 worth of tickets.

Conway police and investigators from the district attorney's office investigated by examining the video tapes and by reviewing audits done by the store and state lottery officials.

Ms. Justi's bail was set at $5,000.

A preliminary hearing is set at 9 a.m. Dec. 18 before Judge Howe.
