Penguins' Goligoski could miss up to three weeks
Team recalls defenseman Nate Guenin
Monday, November 16, 2009

Penguins defenseman Alex Goligoski is the latest player who will miss time because of injury.

Goligoski, who is third on the team with 14 points, is having an MRI today, and coach Dan Bylsma said the best guess is that Goligoski will be out two to three weeks.

When they play Anaheim tonight at Mellon Arena, the Penguins will have three defensemen who began the season in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. Deryk Engelland, Ben Lovejoy and Nate Guenin have all been recalled to fill in for injured players. Guenin, a Hopewell High School graduate, was recalled today.

If he gets into a game, Guenin would join Ryan Malone and Bill Thomas as the only local natives to make a regular-season appearance with the Penguins.
