Duquesne junior men's basketball player Damian Saunders was named the Atlantic 10 Conference co-player of the week for his performance in the Dukes' season-opening 85-62 win over Nicholls State on Friday.

The 6-7 forward had 17 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. He also had five assists and four steals.

Duquesne (1-0) next plays Tuesday at Iowa at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
