Tiger Woods shot a 68 in the second round of the Australian Masters to build a three-shot lead going into the weekend in Melbourne, his fourth consecutive tournament with at least a share of the 36-hole lead. Woods was at 10-under 134 as he tries to win for the first time in Australia. He had the lead yesterday over American Jason Dufner (67) and two Australians in James Nitties (71) and Greg Chalmers (69).
Children's Miracle Network Classic: Justin Leonard shot an 8-under 64 in the second round for a 132 total in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., to surge to the top of the leader board in the final PGA Tour event of the season. Leonard had 11 birdies and three bogeys. Justin Rose (69) and George McNeill (66) were two strokes back. Former world No. 1 David Duval missed the cut and likely will lose his full status on the tour.
Taiheiyo Masters: Yasuharu Imano shot a 7-under 65 to take a two-stroke lead at 10-under 134 after two rounds in Gotemba, Japan. Kaname Yokoo (67), Yusaku Miyazato (67) and Taigen Tsumagari (68) were tied for second.
Lorena Ochoa Invitational: Jiyai Shin shot a 6-under 66 for the second-round lead at 11-under 133 in Guadalajara, Mexico. She was three strokes ahead of Americans Michelle Wie (66) and Paula Creamer (69).
Journeyman Doug Barron, the first player to be suspended by the PGA for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance, is asking a federal court to lift his suspension.
