Q: Does Wofford pose a threat to Pitt in the opener?

Sherry, Johnstown

FITTIPALDO: Wofford does pose more of a threat than most teams Pitt has played in past season openers. The Terriers return all five starters from last season's team that recorded a 16-14 record. They have a dominant inside presence in Noah Dahlman (17.8 ppg, 6.4 rpg last season) and an outside shooting threat in Junior Salters (15 ppg, 76 3-pointers). And this team will not be intimidated by playing at the Petersen Events Center. The Terriers lost at Dayton by three points last season. Dayton was an NCAA tournament team. And they lost by one point in overtime at Georgia. Two years ago, they won at Purdue. And three years ago, they won at Cincinnati. With five new starters, Pitt might not have an easy time. I'm not predicting an upset, but don't be surprised if it's a close game.
