Q: Aloha, Ed. Just wondering if Willie Parker has fallen out of favor so much that he is running as the third-string back now? I thought that he was only in for one play on Monday night. Maybe his toe is still bothering him?

John Chiffy, Alea, Hawaii

BOUCHETTE: Parker is now the backup to Rashard Mendenhall with Mewelde Moore as the third-down back. Indeed, Parker came into the game for one play Monday night so Mendenhall could catch his breath after a long run. They will stick with Mendenhall the way he is running, averaging 105 yards a game over the past five games with a 5.7-yard average per carry for the season. They inserted Moore into the game after Mendenhall bobbled the ball near the goal line because Moore is their security blanket when it comes to holding onto the ball.
