Findlay Industrial Park development progresses
Thursday, November 12, 2009

Findlay supervisors last night approved a deed of dedication that makes the township responsible for maintenance of the main road and the storm water facilities in the Findlay Industrial Park, at the Westport interchange of the Findlay Connector (Route 576).

Developer Imperial Land Corp. built Solar Drive according to the township's specifications for truck traffic, Manager Gary Klingman said.

The deed includes about 2.6 acres bordering Burgettstown Road, including the roadway, curbs and lighting; an 8-foot-wide walking/biking trail; and storm water facilities.

The industrial park contains an 80,000-square-foot warehouse that The Okonite Co., an electrical wire and cable manufacturer, has occupied since earlier this fall, and a 155,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center for the Appliance Dealers Cooperative, which will hold a grand opening later this month.

The New Jersey-based cooperative is a regional buying group that serves independent and family-owned appliance and electronics stores.
