At least one injured in crashes on Parkway East

State police are investigating two separate accidents that tied up traffic last night on both the inbound and outbound sides of the Parkway East near the Squirrel Hill Tunnel.

One person was injured and taken to UPMC Mercy after a two-vehicle crash on the inbound side, according to emergency officials. That passenger's condition was unknown. No one was seriously injured in the one-vehicle accident on the outbound side, officials said.

The accidents occurred around 10:30 p.m. and traffic was backed up for at least an hour.
