A Beaver County man charged in connection with a couch burning in February during Super Bowl victory celebrations on the University of Pittsburgh campus pleaded guilty yesterday to two minor charges and got 180 days of probation.
Andrew A. Ablog, 22, appeared before Allegheny County Senior Judge Gerard M. Bigley.
Mr. Ablog received 90 days of probation for a summary disorderly conduct charge that was lowered in severity from a misdemeanor. He also got another 90 days probation for pleading guilty to a summary count of dangerous burning.
Mr. Ablog was a Pitt senior and Monaca volunteer firefighter when he was arrested by Pittsburgh police.
Arson investigators charged him in May after reviewing an Internet video that they said showed Mr. Ablog pouring lighter fluid onto a burning couch Feb. 1, after the Steelers won the Super Bowl. Police said they were tipped to the video by a concerned student.
