Zelienople woman not guilty in Panama killing
Monday, November 09, 2009

A Butler County woman who was accused two years ago of murdering a Staten Island socialite in Panama City was found innocent during a recent trial, according to her family.

Debra Ridgley of Zelienople has been jailed in Panama for more than two years. The 58-year-old grandmother was charged with the murder of 57-year-old Carrick native Toni Grossi Abrams, who was her landlord in Panama.

Ms. Ridgley's ex-husband, Walter George Barcheski of Aliquippa, said he was waiting to hear from his son Joseph Ridgley, who was in Panama to attend his mother's trial. Mr. Barcheski did not yet know when Ms. Ridgley would be returning.

"I'm looking forward to the homecoming party," he said.
