Arson detectives are investigating three suspicious fires in Friendship over the last three days.
About 2:40 a.m. today, a cloth awning on the front porch of a home in the 5200 block of Friendship Avenue went up in flames. The awning then fell down, and the porch furniture caught fire.
About the same time, someone ignited a pile of leaves in the front yard of a home in the 300 block of South Pacific, according to police.
No one was injured in either blaze, and both were extinguished quickly.
On Saturday morning, burned Halloween decorations were discovered in the front lawn of a property in the 200 block of South Aiken Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. A pumpkin from a neighboring property had also been taken and placed on top of a nearby car.
Investigators do not have any suspects.
"We're just hoping someone in the neighborhood can come forward and call our office," said Detective Michael Burns of the city arson squad.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the squad at 412-937-3078.
