OAKLAND: The Association of University People for college graduates over the age of 50 will meet at the Friends Meeting House, 4836 Ellsworth. The "meet and greet" will take place at 7 p.m., followed by the program at 7:30 p.m. Jil Painter and Samantha Masters, graduate students in dietetics at the University of Pittsburgh, will present methods to promote healthy body weight and an active lifestyle. TUESDAY

GARFIELD: A school choice fair for parents and guardians looking for information to aid in the selection for the best school for their child will take place from 4-6 p.m. at the St. Lawrence O'Toole Activity Center, 140 N. Atlantic Ave. (near Penn Avenue). Representatives from 35 public, private, cyber, charter and parochial schools will provide information on their schools' mission, academic levels, classroom size, safety records, transportation, financial aid, after-school programming and application procedures and deadlines.

SHADYSIDE: State Rep. Dan Frankel (D-Squirrel Hill) will moderate a discussion on health care reform at 7 p.m. Rodef Shalom Congregation, 4905 Fifth Ave. Panelist includ State Rep. Josh Shapiro (D-Philadelphia), a member of the White House Team of State Legislators For Health Reform; Dr. Andrea Fox of the Squirrel Hill Health Center; and Diane Holder, president and CEO of the UPMC Health Plan. DOWNTOWN: The Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania will hold its monthy noontime concert at noon at the Trombino Piano Gallerie, 942 Penn Ave. Performing will be West Virginia University professors Christine Keffersian, piano, and Francesca Arnone, flute. Free

OAKLAND: Carnegie Library's Spanish Conversation Club for speakers of intermediate and advanced fluency will meet at 6 p.m. at the main branch, 4400 Forbes Ave.

SATURDAY

SHADYSIDE: The Women of Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Ave., will hold their 50th holiday bazaar, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., in the parish house. Featured will be attic treasures, fine linens and collectibles, baked goods, gourmet food, handmade items, jewelry, Advent calendars and candle, etc. A luncheon will be served in the refectory; reservations required, $15. OAKLAND: The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh will hold its second annual Women's Conference from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the center, 4100 Bigelow Blvd. The theme for the program will be "Islam Gives Me My Rights." Among the topics for discussion include women's health, domestic abuse, raising spiritually aware children as well as diversity among contemporary Muslim women. EAST LIBERTY: The Delta Phi Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho sorority will hold its Founders' Celebration with "A Taste Of Africa" luncheon at noon at Tana Ethiopian Restaurant, 5929 Baum Blvd. To honored for their work with youth at the luncheon will be Maurita Bryant, assistant chief of investigation for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police; Alison Boyle, volunteer/mentor coordinator for Gwen's Girl; and the organization, Moms Who Tri.
