A 21-year-old bicyclist was killed last night when he was struck in Butler by a car that left the scene.
Butler police identified the victim as Jayson Cramer of the 400 block of Ziegler Avenue, Butler.
The accident occurred a block away from the victim's house at about 10:41 p.m.
Police said that after Mr. Cramer was struck in the 300 block of Zeigler, the car drove out of town on Herman Road. It later was located at 11:06 p.m. on Protzman Road, just south of Herman.
A witness told police a man and women walked from the car, which was heavily damaged and still had the bicycle wedged beneath it, having dragged it for several miles.
Police said they found the man who had left the car, identified as Patrick Leroy Duncan, 29, of Madison Avenue, East Butler, walking on Portman Road near Route 422. The woman, whose name was not released, was found at her residence in the city, where she had gone after flagging down a motorist and asking for a ride.
The investigation is continuing. Mr. Duncan was placed in the Butler County Prison on an outstanding bench warrant.
