The Carnegie Science Museum's Highmark SportsWorks exhibition is slated to reopen Dec. 19, just in time for the Christmas holidays.

The opening of the $5 million facility had been delayed since September because of normal delays due to weather and the permitting process.

The old SportsWorks location closed in August 2008 to make way for an extension of the Light Rail System.
