Walko, four others, win Common Pleas Court seat
Tuesday, November 03, 2009

State Rep. Don Walko was among the winners tonight of five seats on Allegheny County Common Pleas Court, according to unofficial results with 97 percent of precincts reporting.

Mr. Walko, D-Observatory Hill, won a seat even though he received a "not recommended at this time" rating from the county Bar Association.

The other winners were District Judge Susan Evashavik DiLucente of Forest Hills; Phil Ignelzi, a medical malpractice and criminal defense lawyer from McCandless; Arnie Klein, an Upper St. Clair trial lawyer; and Judge Joe Williams, a Penn Hills resident who was appointed to fill a vacancy on the bench last year.

The losers were Michele Zappala Peck, a special master for the court's Board of Viewers, and Alex Bicket, a trial lawyer who specializes in environmental cases. Both are from Mt. Lebanon.
