A woman and her two children were hospitalized with smoke inhalation after a suspicious fire damaged their home in Tarentum.
Conditions were not available for Terra Lynn and her children, a daughter, 11, and a son, 8.
Another woman who resided in a lower section of the duplex was not injured, Allegheny County Fire Marshal Donald Brucker said.
Mrs. Lynn and her children first were taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital and transferred to West Penn Hospital, Mr. Brucker said.
Officials say the fire was reported about 12:30 a.m. at the house in the 1100 block of Bakerstown Road in the borough.
Mr. Brucker said investigators still are working to determine the cause. Though he called it a suspicious fire, he declined further comment, pending results of the investigation.
