WPIAL CLASS AA: Jeannette streak broken by Miller's gem
Saturday, October 31, 2009

Greensburg Central Catholic's Dave Miller rushed for 344 yards and five touchdowns, but his heroics were somewhat overshadowed by last night's opponent and what it did not accomplish.

Jeannette's streak of football playoff appearances ended at 15 in a row after the Jayhawks were routed, 49-18, at home by rival Greensburg Central Catholic in the Interstate Conference.

Jeannette (5-4, 5-4) had the longest playoff-appearance streak in the WPIAL, but the Jayhawks ended conference play with four losses in their last five games to fall short as a sixth-place team. It is the first time since 1993 the Jayhawks failed to make the playoffs.
