City League: Jeter score, TD pass lead Oliver to victory

Dante Jeter ran for one touchdown and threw for another to lead Oliver to a 22-14 victory against Peabody yesterday afternoon in the City League.

Jeter scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, then connected with Martise Smith on a 24-yard scoring pass in the fourth. Jeter completed 6 of 15 passes for 100 yards. The Bears (7-1, 7-1) also scored on a 22-yard pass from Smith to David Marshall.

Peabody (3-6, 3-5) was led by Jaylen Coleman, who rushed for 121 yards on 15 carries and scored on an 84-yard run. The Highlanders also scored on a 10-yard pass from Dontae Forte to Brennan Duckett.

Schenley 58, Carrick 16

Jerome Mathews scored on runs of 7, 6 and 10 yards, as the Spartans (7-1, 7-1) rolled to a victory against the Raiders (3-6, 3-5). Deandre Black scored twice, on a 7-yard pass from Calvin Beck and a 97-yard interception return. Schenley also scored on a 12-yard interception return by Sean McAtee and a fumble recovery in the end zone by Livingston Wright.
