Fugitive arrested on gun charges in Homewood
Friday, October 30, 2009

A fugitive acquitted in the slaying of a 12-year-old boy is in custody after being arrested in an unrelated case.

Donald "Tank" Wilson, 20, of Homewood, was wanted after a woman said he threatened her with a pistol on Friday in Homewood.

When police confronted him in his car, he denied he pointed the gun at anyone. But when they asked him what was in the dashboard compartment of his vehicle, they said he ran away. Police found a gun in the compartment and prepared a warrant on charges of carrying a gun without a permit, possession of a gun with identification marks removed and escape.

Two Pittsburgh Zone 5 officers arrested him Wednesday night.

Mr. Wilson was acquitted this month of precipitating the gunfight that led to the killing of Kholen Germany in Wilkinsburg on April 18, 2008.
