A 30-year-old Homer City man was killed shortly after noon today when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving on Route 259 in Brush Valley Township, Indiana County.

State police said the victim, who was not identified, was southbound on Route 259 when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a parked van. The victim, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, Sheryl Reeder, 26, of Robinson, Indiana County, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Conemaugh Hospital. A 3-year-old boy in the vehicle was not hurt, police said.
