Less than a month after former news director Corrie Harding departed Channel 11, WPXI general manager/acting news director Ray Carter announced a new hire yesterday.

Mike Goldrick, news director at WHEC in Rochester, N.Y., for the past three years, has been hired to become Channel 11's news director. Carter will return to his role as general manager and Goldrick will start at the station on Dec. 1.

Before his first news director job in Rochester, Goldrick was an executive producer at KOMO-TV in Seattle and at WSOC-TV in Charlotte, N.C. Like WPXI anchor David Johnson, Goldrick is a graduate of the University of Florida.
