FRIDAY

Opening night of the Bricolage Production Company's "Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom" at 9 p.m. at 937 Liberty Ave. The play, written by Jennifer Haley and directed by Matt M. Morrow, is about a suburban subdivision with identical houses in which parents find their teenagers addicted to an online horror video game. The game setting? A subdivision with identical houses. The goal? Smash through an army of zombies to escape the neighborhood for good. But as the line blurs between virtual and reality, parents and players realize that fear has a life of its own. At 8:30 p.m., enjoy the Happy Half Hour before the show with cocktails and snacks while testing your gaming skills in the Bricolage Gaming Arcade in the lobby.

-- Halloween Mayhem Day at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., from 1 to 5 p.m. featuring a Squonk Opera installation on the building's roof and hands-on arts activities with kids in the theater lobby. The Pittsburgh Glass Center is sponsoring the glass art making demonstrations. The Hope Academy of Music and Arts, Propel Homestead, Alumni Theater Company and Temujin the Storyteller also are slated to perform. There also will be trick-or-treating and snacks for the children. With new films and remakes jumping on the undead bandwagon, they're taking a look back at some of the earliest and most influential Zombie flicks in a three-film marathon that includes "White Zombie," "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and "Night of the Living Dead."
