WPIAL Class AAAA: Seneca Valley rally capped by record kick
Saturday, October 24, 2009

For three quarters, it looked as if Seneca Valley's playoff hopes were wilting away last night.

But 12 minutes later, they were in full bloom.

A huge fourth-quarter comeback enabled visiting Seneca Valley to jump into sole possession of fourth place in the Northern Six Conference after a thrilling, 19-17 win against Pine-Richland.

The Raiders (4-4, 2-2) trailed, 17-0, after three quarters, but pulled out the miraculous comeback against the Rams (3-5, 1-3) behind the strong leg of kicker Will Hugo and the running ability of quarterback Donny Holl.

Hugo was the star, kicking a 43-yard field goal, and then provided the winner on a school-record 52-yard boot with 30 seconds remaining.
