The Hempfield Area School Board Monday night appointed Helen Turkalj to fill the final month and a half of a seat formerly held by Jeff Weber.

Mr. Weber, whose term would have expired next month, resigned at a meeting last week. He was then appointed by the board to serve the final two years of Tim Miller's term. Mr. Miller resigned in September.

Mrs. Turkalj will attend only the November workshop and regular board meetings. Newly elected directors will be seated in December.
