Brentwood -- Brentwood Emergency Medical Service is hosting a holiday craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at St. Sylvester Church hall, 3754 Brownsville Road. Admission is free; for more information, call 412-884-8744.

CONCERTS

Dormont -- Pittsburgh Area Theatre Organ Society will present Skip Stine, trumpet man, with the Harry James Band and Ken Double on the organ in a concert of big band melodies, 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Keystone Oaks High School Auditorium, 1000 Kelton Ave. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. West Mifflin -- A Night at the Races to benefit the Little Sisters of the Poor will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Westwood Golf Club, 825 Commonwealth Ave. The event is being conducted by former players of Francis "McGee" Mannion, longtime basketball coach at Bishop Boyle High School who died in August 2008. California -- California University of Pennsylvania, 250 California Ave., will host a National Geographic Live presentation, Steve McCurry: Face to Face at 7 tonight in the Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre on campus. The public is invited to go behind the scenes with the master photographer as he shares his method of capturing the essence of a person through portraiture. Before Mr. McCurry's lecture, visitors can view In Focus: National Geographic Greatest Portraits in The Manderino Gallery on the third floor of Cal U's Manderino Library. The exhibit includes Mr. McCurry's iconic "Afghan Girl" portrait. Admission to the lecture and the gallery is free.

Carrick -- The Carrick High School Alumni Association will designate four of its alumni as Distinguished Alumni at a ceremony at 10 a.m. Oct. 31 in the high school auditorium, 125 Parkfield St. The event will be dedicated to Marine Sgt. Ryan H. Lane, a Carrick High School graduate who died July 23 in Afghanistan. To be recognized are Phyllis Hyman, Robert Haskins Miller, Royland Earl Wild and Victor F. Koontz.
