The Steelers defeated the Cleveland Browns 27-14 today at Heinz Field for their third straight victory.

Jeff Reed kicked a 39-yard field goal for the only points of the final quarter.

The victory raised the Steelers record to 4-2. Cleveland dropped to 1-5.

Ben Roethlisberger passed for 417 yards, second most in his career.

The Steelers took a 24-14 lead into the fourth quarter of today's game in Heinz Field after each team scored a touchdown in the third quarter.

Cleveland scored on a one-yard pass from quarterback Derek Anderson to fullback Lawrence Vickers. Rashard Mendenhall ran two yards for the Steelers' touchdown.

The third quarter deteriorated into a sloppy affair with the teams trading turnovers -- there were five of them in 12 plays.

Ben Roethlisberger threw touchdown passes to Heath Miller and Hines Ward giving the Steelers a 17-7 halftime lead.

Ward caught a second TD pass with 17 seconds left but on replay review, the referee decided he did not control the ball when he hit the ground. Jeff Reed wound up kicking a 32-yard field goal with 11 seconds left.

Joshua Cribbs returned a kickoff 98 yards for Cleveland's touchdown.

Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter.
