Pitt, West Virginia enter AP Poll

Pitt entered both the Associated Press and USA Today/coaches top 25 for the first time this season on the heels of a 24-17 win at Rutgers Friday night.

Pitt also debuted at No. 20 in the initial BCS rankings.

The Panthers (6-1, 3-0 in the Big East) are ranked No. 20 in the AP poll and No. 19 in the USA Today poll, which were both released today. West Virginia (5-1, 1-0) also entered the rankings at No. 22 in both polls as well as No. 23 in the BCS rankings and Penn State (6-1) is now No. 13 in the AP poll, No. 11 in the USA Today poll and No. 13 in the BCS rankings.

Meanwhile, one Big East team, Cincinnati (6-0, 2-0), is ranked in the top 5 (No. 5 AP, No. 6 USA Today and No. 5 in BCS).

Alabama (7-0) jumped ahead of SEC rival and defending national champion Florida (6-0) for the No. 1 spot in the AP poll but the Gators are No. 1 in the USA Today poll as well as the BCS rankings.
