Hampton forced a logjam in the Greater Allegheny Conference with a 10-7 victory against previously unbeaten Mars.
The visiting Planets (4-3, 2-1), ranked No. 5 in Class AAA, drop into a four-way tie for first place with Hampton (4-3, 2-1), Franklin Regional and Knoch.
Hampton jumped out to a 10-0 lead with an 18-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 73-yard run by Andrew Bly in the fourth quarter. Mars scored its only points on a 1-yard run by Austin Miele in the fourth quarter.
The Leopards (4-3, 2-2) jumped out to a 21-0 lead and held on for a Big Seven Conference victory against the visiting Rams (2-5, 0-4). Matt Green rushed for 122 yards on 20 carries and scored on an 8-yard run for the Leopards. Belle Vernon also scored on a 1-yard run by Brandon Dilmore and a 40-yard pass from Dilmore to Ian Dobbins. Ringgold's Dylan Patch ran 13 yards for one touchdown and threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Percy Law.
Andrew Steratore tossed two touchdowns to Ken Wilkins, and Tyler Yocca added a pair of scoring runs, to help the Hillers (2-5, 2-3) keep their playoff hopes alive in the Big Seven Conference with the upset of the host Titans (5-2, 2-2).
Steve Liberatore threw for 177 yards and a touchdown, and Chad Bowman rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns to lead the host Panthers (5-2, 2-1) to a Greater Allegheny Conference victory against the winless Golden Rams (0-7, 0-3). Bowman scored on runs of 24, 5 and 8 yards. Liberatore completed 8 of 17 passes, including a 42-yard scoring strike to Josh Staniscia.
The Knights (2-5, 2-1) posted their second consecutive Greater Allegheny Conference victory against the host Little Indians (1-6, 1-2). John DeWalt scored on runs of 13, 1 and 34 yards for the Knights. Knoch also scored on an 8-yard run by Ky Kenyon, a 1-yard run by Adam Tuzikow and a 24-yard field goal by Kevin Wood. Indiana scored on a 1-yard run by Kyle Decker and a 25-yard pass from Kyle Edgar to Kevin Stapleton.
The visiting Mustangs (3-4, 3-1) rallied from a 13-0 deficit to beat the Colonials (3-4, 2-3) in the Keystone Conference. Dylan Clifford rushed for 137 yards on 27 carries and scored on runs of 4 and 5 yards for the Mustangs. Albert Gallatin's Grayling Sanders rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown.
The host Golden Lions (6-1, 4-0) remain unbeaten in the Keystone Conference with a shutout of the winless Scotties (0-7, 0-4). Ryan Short and Mike Kizzie each ran for two touchdowns for Greensburg Salem. Short rushed for 120 yards on 20 carries and scored on runs of 10 and 14 yards. The Scotties have been shut out four times.
Fred Johnson scored four touchdowns, including three on kick returns, to lead the Red Raiders (4-3, 3-1) to a dominating victory against the visiting Cougars (1-6, 1-4) in the Keystone Conference. Johnson returned a pair of punts, 61 and 40 yards, and a kickoff 85 yards for touchdowns. He also ran 26 yards for a touchdown. Arnold Walker scored on runs of 1 and 36 yards for Uniontown and rushed for 141 yards on 12 carries.
Nicholas McCune returned a fumble 60 yards for a score and caught touchdown passes of 11 and 5 yards from Dillon Buechel, as the Spartans (5-2, 3-1) shut out the host Cougars (2-5, 0-4) in the Parkway Conference. Philip Peckich scored Montour's other touchdowns on runs of 12 and 65 yards. Peckich rushed for 107 yards on 12 carries.
Keith Keene rushed for 156 yards on 10 carries and scored on touchdown runs of 64, 7 and 70 yards, as the host Red Hurricanes (5-2, 3-2) defeated the winless Tigers (0-7, 0-4) in the Parkway Conference. Keene also caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from John Matarazzo, who completed 8 of 11 passes for 181 yards. Matarazzo also connected with Marcus Carter on a 44-yard scoring pass.
Josh Pomilio, Greg Sotereanos and Gerald Johnson each ran for a touchdown, and Nick Kalpakis kicked a field goal, as the Warriors (4-3) defeated the Trojans (2-5) in a non-conference game played at Derry.
The Bridgers (3-4) scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to break a 23-23 tie and defeat the host Bobcats (4-3) in a non-conference game. Wally Rideout rushed for 115 yards and scored on a pair of 2-yard runs for the Bridgers. Zach Nichi also accounted for two touchdowns for the Bridgers, on an 11-yard run and a 26-yard pass to Kolby Addis.
