Friday, October 16, 2009

A Wilkinsburg man today was ordered to stand trial for the July 9 shooting death of another man in the Duquesne Village Apartments.

A $1,000 reward had been offered a week after the killing for information that would lead to the arrest of Deandre Woods, 20, who was apprehended last month.

He is charged with homicide and illegal possession of a firearm.

Police said Mr. Woods shot and killed Maurice Malachi, 22, who died of a bullet wound of the abdomen, police said.

Mr. Woods is being held without bail in the Allegheny County Jail to await trial.
