Question: Hi Ed. Where has Isaac Redman landed? Is he on the practice squad again? Obviously the powers that be see something in him or about him that we do not to keep him off of the team. What do you think it is?

Andrew Henthorn, Branchburg, N.J.

BOUCHETTE: Isaac Redman is back on the practice squad and it appears he will remain there, barring another injury. The Steelers signed him to the 53-man roster and he dressed for their game against San Diego because Willie Parker and tight end/fullback David Johnson were hurt. After that game, they released Redman and signed him back to their practice squad. The Steelers are going with only four backs this year, down one from the past, which is where they got the extra spot on the roster to keep return man Stefan Logan. They use Johnson as a blocker so the pure fullback, ala Dan Kreider, is no longer in their offense. Carey Davis can do both. That leaves Rashard Mendenhall, Willie Parker and Mewelde Moore and Redman is not about to knock any of them off the roster.
