Dr. Dorothy J. Becker, chief of the division of endocrinology and diabetes at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, was elected president of Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society.

Michael D. McDowell, attorney, arbitrator and mediator based in Pittsburgh, was elected to the National Academy of Arbitrators.

Washington Federal hired Victor Bell as a registered representative for its wealth management division.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh said Winthrop Watson will join as chief operating officer on Nov. 18.

Norm Kerr joined Buck Consultants as a principal in its health and productivity practice.

Education

Baldwin-Whitehall High School named Dr. John Wilkinson, interim principal and Janeen Peretin, assistant principal. In addition, Dr. Wilkinson continues as assistant superintendent for secondary education.

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania and Columbia Gas of Maryland appointed Mark Kempic, director, rates and regulatory policy and Thomas E. Cuddy, director, communications and community relations.

Susan Kulsic was promoted to accountant leader at National Energy Technology Laboratory, financial management division.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine selected Dr. Michael Boninger, a renowned researcher in spinal cord injury and assistive technology, as chair of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
