KISS to come to Mellon Arena in December
Thursday, October 08, 2009

Prepare for blood and fire because KISS Alive 35 is coming to Pittsburgh after all. The pyrotechnic hard rock band, which released the new album "Sonic Boom" this week, will play Mellon Arena on Dec. 13.

There is no information yet on a ticket sale date. Fans are asked to stay tuned to kissonline.com for details.

The 35th anniversary opened Sept. 25 at Cobo Arena in Detroit, where the band recorded the classic KISS "Alive." The current touring members are founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons with guitarist Tommy Thayer, who joined in 2002, replacing Ace Frehley, and drummer Eric Singer, who's been off and on since 1991, replacing Peter Criss.

The band's last show here was July 4, 2004 at the Post-Gazette Pavilion.

This year, KISS is, at last, a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
