Thursday, October 08, 2009

Patrick M. Risha, the son of West Mifflin Area School District Superintendent Patrick Risha, has been charged by the West Mifflin police in connection with an incident in which shots were fired on the grounds of the Westwood Golf Club early Saturday.

Police Chief Joseph Popovich said officers on patrol heard gunshots coming from the direction of the golf course at about 12:30 a.m.

According to a police report, the officers found four people located on a hill and one of the individuals, Mr. Risha, was firing a 9 mm pistol.

Chief Popovich said Mr. Risha is a bartender at the golf course clubhouse and the other individuals were his friends. They were taken into custody but later released.

Mr. Risha, 27, of Belle Vernon, faces two counts of reckless endangerment and one count each of disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm in violation of a borough ordinance.

Chief Popovich said those charges have been filed with West Mifflin District Justice Richard Olasz and will be mailed in a summons to Mr. Risha.

Mr. Risha's three companions were issued citations for disorderly conduct, according to the chief. They are: Amanda Bargiel, 24, of White Oak; Jace Amore, 26, of Belle Vernon; and Sean Walters, 25, of Elizabeth.
