The Crafton Public Library will celebrate the completion of the Sprout Fund outdoor mural with a free block party from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Bradford Avenue and Stotz Street next to the borough building.
Mural artist Andy Matia will attend, and his mural will be dedicated to the children of Crafton. The party will include music, refreshments, a scavenger hunt and other games.
The 19th-century tradition of paper-cutting -- called scherenschnitte -- to create holiday artwork using nothing other than paper and scissors will be taught at Old Economy Village in Ambridge.
Old Economy's scherenschnitte decorations were featured in Early American Life magazine in 2007.

Aviation expert Craig "Buzz" Conroy will present a free program on aviation and the black boxes in airplanes at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Coraopolis Lodge 674 F&AM, 1142 Maple St. Ext., Coraopolis.
The program includes audience involvement and is open to the public.
Artists, crafters, fundraising groups and food vendors will have displays on sidewalks during Bridgeville's peddler days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday on Washington Avenue and in Triangle Park in Bridgeville. Parking will be free during the event.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden will hold a pilgrimage at 1 p.m. Saturday on their grounds, 1020 State St. in Baden, to commemorate the Virgin Mary's appearance to St. Bernadette Soubirous near Lourdes, France.
The free pilgrimage begins at the outdoor labyrinth behind the Motherhouse and continues with a short walk to the hillside grotto.
For those unable to make the walk or if the weather is inclement, a prayer service will be conducted in the Motherhouse Chapel.
Participants are asked to bring a flower for the grotto and park in the lot at Mount Gallitzin Academy, 1016 State St. Snacks will be served afterward.
