A woman died yesterday in a collision between her SUV and a logging truck.

The crash occurred on Route 711 near Hawkins Hollow Road in Springfield Township in Fayette County. Police received the call at about 4:12 p.m.

State police said Susan Rugg, 52, of Mill Run, Fayette County, crossed the center of the highway and crashed head-on into the truck driven by Ronald Craig, 50, of Normalville, Fayette County. A news release does not indicate whether Mr. Craig was injured.

A hazardous materials team was called to the scene because 100 gallons of fuel were spilled in the roadway after the crash.
