Worker dies in fall from McKees Rocks Bridge

A 54-year-old Ohio man fell to his death while he was working on the McKees Rocks Bridge by Pier 16 at Alcosan, police said.

A sandblasting crew was working under a gray tarp on the bridge when a staging platform the man was standing on gave way, causing him to fall 100 feet shortly after 2 p.m.

The man, Michael L???Hereaux, Oberlin, Ohio, was contracting with Odyssey Contracting Corporation, based in Houston, Pa.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
