A Clairton man faces a hearing this week in connection with two burglaries in Swissvale.
Investigators said the suspect, Clinton Lance, 18, also is suspected of using two teenage girls in five burglaries in Edgewood.
The trio were arrested Wednesday shortly after a break-in at a home on Edgewood Avenue.
Edgewood police Chief Robert Payne said Allegheny County police already had lifted Mr. Lance's fingerprints from the scenes of previous burglaries.
All officers were given copies of photographs of the suspect, and he was spotted Wednesday afternoon walking with the two girls, ages 15 and 16. All three were carrying knapsacks full of stolen goods, Chief Payne said.
The three gave statements admitting their roles in five break-ins in Edgewood and two more in Swissvale.
The hearing for Mr. Lance is scheduled at 9 a.m. before District Judge Ross Cioppa in Rankin.
The two girls' residences were searched and police found several items reported stolen in the burglaries in Swissvale and Edgewood.
The items found in the knapsacks and at the girls' homes included various electronic gadgets, women's clothing and jewelry.
Mr. Lance is being held on $40,000 bail in the county jail.
His hearing on the Edgewood cases is scheduled at 9 a.m. Oct. 6 before District Judge Susan Evashavik in Forest Hills.
The two girls, who were taken to Shuman Juvenile Detention Center, are to be adjudicated in juvenile court.
