After marching from Oakland, thousands of protesters gathered at the City-County Building to listen to music and speeches before heading to the North Shore. Union oganizers, anti-war activists, Tibetan exiles and anarchists stood shoulder-to-shoulder. Since this is Pittsburgh, a few Terrible Towels were seen, and at least one person wore a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey.
