You've certainly been asked the question before: "Why do you live in Pittsburgh?"
Whattaya say?
"Steelers."
Or you might say, "It's cheap."
Mark Fern just says, "I Like It Here."
That's the name of a new song and video from his band, Jack to My Friends.
Fern wrote the ode to his hometown about three months ago and then shot a scenic video timed for the G-20. It finds the singer-guitarist touring various local landmarks -- from Mount Washington to the Strip to PNC Park -- singing the Smithereens-style rocker.
Among the lyrics in the tune are "People say, 'What bet did you lose?' " -- you know, to be living here.
"I Like It Here" never mentions Pittsburgh by name, so conceivably people could sing it anywhere.

Rather than running from the G-20, Howler's in Bloomfield embraces it with a mix of indie, garage and punk at the G-20 Music Fest this week.
On Thursday, it's Lover29, Summer Lungs, Bowhunter, Drugdealer and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. On Friday, Erreur Fatale, Lorens Chuno, Hail And Farewell, Mustache Required, Lucid Music and Satan's Sidekick.
Shows start at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. Friday is free if you pay for Thursday.
The Composure, a pop-rock band by former Punchline singer Paul Menotiades, plays Diesel on Friday on a multiple band bill with singer-pianist Harrison Wargo, who left The Morning Light just as the band was releasing its debut album. Joining them are Cavashawn, The International Drive and The Stop Sound. It begins at 5 p.m. at the South Side club.
