Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania is closing seven branches on Thursday and Friday: all three of its branches in the Golden Triangle; one on Fifth Avenue, Uptown; two in Oakland; and one on East Ohio Street, North Side.
"We are making these adjustments because of the road closures and expected traffic congestion," said Citizens spokesman Mike Jones.
ATMs at all Citizens' locations will be accessible for withdrawals and deposits, he said.
And unlike some Downtown branch banks, Citizens will operate regular business hours tomorrow.
PNC Financial Services Group will close all Downtown branches tomorrow through Friday except two: one at Three PNC Plaza and the National City branch on Stanwix Street.
ATMs at all locations will operate throughout the week for withdrawals and deposits with the exception of those that normally don't handle deposits, said PNC spokesman Fred Solomon.
The decision to close most branches was made because of expected "reduced population in the Golden Triangle during the [G-20] and other security matters," he said.
Dollar Bank will open one branch, on Fourth Avenue, from tomorrow through Friday with abbreviated hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. A branch at Gateway Center will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow and closed Thursday and Friday, and two other Downtown branches will be closed tomorrow through Friday.
Dollar's ATMs will be available for withdrawals but not deposits, said spokesman Jeff Morrow.
"We don't expect many customers Downtown those days," he said.
First Niagara, which acquired 57 National City branches earlier this month, will close four of them, including three Downtown and one in Oakland, from tomorrow through Friday. Its ATMs will be accessible for withdrawals but not deposits, said spokeswoman Leslie Garrity.
Northwest Savings Bank will close branches Downtown and in Oakland starting tomorrow through Friday. The bank said in a statement it was closing the offices for safety reasons as a result of traffic restrictions and planned demonstrations by G-20 protesters.
Northwest's ATM and night deposit drop box in the Oliver Building, Downtown, will be shuttered, but the ATM at its Oakland branch will be accessible.
