G-20 demonstrations

The City of Pittsburgh has granted permits for these demonstrations:

  • Exhibit on Destroyed Villages of Darfur: 9/22-9/25, Continuously displayed on Flagstaff Hill, Schenley Park
     
  • Bail Out the People Movement: Rally to be held 9/19-9/25, 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Allegheny Commons East Park
     
  • Workforce Development Global Alliance: Sept. 23, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Rally on Grandview Avenue Overlook and march on Mt. Washington sidewalks
     
  • G-20 Fight AIDS Funeral Procession/Health Gap: Rally and march, 9/22 , 1 p.m.-4 p.m., Downtown sidewalks (Liberty and Grant) Make a right onto Fort Duquesne Boulevard, make a right onto Liberty Avenue, and make a right onto Grant Avenue.
     
  • Action Factory Organization (avaaz.org): Rally and march 9/25, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Assemble at Kennard Field, noon. March down Kirkpatrick to Fifth Avenue, 1 p.m.
     
  • Tibetan Association of Philadelphia: 9/25, 1-4 p.m. Assemble at Forbes Avenue and march down Forbes Avenue to Wightman; turn onto Phillips, followed by Murray; head onto Wilkins, Shady, Fifth, Negley, and Walnut; turn onto Aiken, Liberty, cross the Bloomfield Bridge; Left onto Bigelow, continue onto North Craig, and head back onto Fifth. March is to be conducted on sidewalks.
     
  • Association of Philadelphia Tibetan Community: 9/24, 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Assemble in Oakland (Fifth Avenue and Craft Avenue). March down Fifth Avenue to the City-County Building, continue to Smithfield Street; Smithfield Street to Seventh and Liberty.
     
  • Pittsburgh Outdoor Artists and Community Indian Summer: Rally, 9/18-9/25, 6 a.m.-11 p.m. South Side Riverfront Park.
     
  • Three Rivers Climate Convergence: Rally, 9/20-9/25, 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Schenley Park.
     
  • Thomas Merton Center: 9/25 12 p.m. Assemble in Oakland (Fifth Avenue and Craft Avenue) Down Fifth Avenue; Rally at City-County Building; march down Fifth Avenue, right onto Wood Street, left onto Liberty Avenue; Right onto Seventh, continue across bridge. Continue onto Sandusky, which becomes East Commons. Right onto East Ohio, and into East park.
     
  • Chinese Association for Science and Technology: 9/25, 9 a.m. March from Flagstaff Hill, sidewalks along Schenley Drive and the Panther Hollow Bridge.
