An Indiana County middle school student was charged with assaulting a state trooper yesterday after she slapped him in the face and repeatedly kicked him in the legs.
According to a state police report, Tpr. Adam L. Thomas, of the Indiana Station, responded to a call about an unruly female student at 8 a.m.
When he arrived at the Blairsville Middle School in Burrell Township around 8:30 a.m., he tried to talk to the 15-year-old girl. She responded with obscene language while surrounded by faculty and students.
When she tried to leave the school, Tpr. Thomas restrained her. That's when she slapped him in the face with a closed fist while holding her purse. She also kicked him repeatedly in the legs, according to the report.
The girl has been charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Her name was not disclosed.
