A fire at Bravo! Cucina Italiana in Mt. Lebanon was quickly extinguished early this morning with damage primarily confined to the kitchen and the roof above it.

Mt. Lebanon Fire Department Lt. Loren Hughes said the call was received at 3:30 a.m. for the blaze at the restaurant located in the Galleria mall at 1500 Washington Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered fire in the kitchen area that had moved through venting up to the root. It was extinguished in about a half hour.

The fire began at cooking equipment in the kitchen but the cause is under investigation by the fire department. Lt. Hughes did not have a damage estimate but said he expected restaurant operations would only be affected for a short time.
