Divers this morning found the body of a man who died in a boating accident Monday at the Youghiogheny Dam Reservoir in Somerset County, Coroner Wallace Miller said.
The body of Richard Makovich, 47, was recovered at about 9:15 a.m.
Divers recovered the body in the reservoir about a half mile south of the Route 40 Bridge, Mr. Miller said.
The search included volunteer firefighters from Addison and divers from Masontown, Preston County, W.Va., and Conemaugh Township in Somerset County.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provided additional staff, boats, and a Remotely Operated Vehicle equipped with a submersible camera.
Mr. Makovich, of Perryopolis, Fayette County, had been boating with his 69-year-old mother when their 16-foot aluminum boat hit a wake and the two fell in the water, Somerset County dispatchers said.
Rescuers were able to quickly rescue Mr. Makovich's mother, Constance Makovich.
Mr. Miller said an autopsy was set for this afternoon.
