Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh unveiled its brand-new library on Federal Street on the North Side during a champagne luncheon held there Friday. Greta and Art Rooney II served as chairs for the event, with Art noting that he grew up on the North Side and hoped "that this facility will become what the library down the street was -- an anchor for this community." Library board chair Jacqui Fiske Lazo and library president Dr. Barbara Mistick welcomed the guests, with remarks by Fred Thieman, president of the Buhl Foundation, and Diane Holder, CEO of UPMC Health Plan.
